LIE 4

Trust a farmer? Jay Lane released several mailers that included the slogan “Trust a Farmer”. He has repeatedly said that he is a farmer who supports farmers and is running to “protect his way of life”. At a forum he was asked the question “given your family, occupation, and other activities, how much time are you able to devote to being our Senator?”. He answered that he had made investments and hired people to manage his farm so he could back away from farming and go to work full time in Raleigh.

People will tell you what they are going to do before they do it. You just have to listen.

Why is Jay Lane lying?

The proof:

Jay Lane explains how passionate he is about farming at the beginning of the Pasquotank GOP NC Senate forum at Big Daddy’s Pizza restaurant.

You can also read his press release about his Troxler endorsement here.

Jay Lane talks about he and his wife’s plans to back away from farming…even before “the opportunity presented itself to run”.

Here are some of Jay Lane’s mailers saying “Trust a Farmer”.

(If you say you’re fighting to protect farming and “your way of life”, and then say you were basically planning to retire from farming at the age of 27, you probably have other “investments” that are more lucrative – perhaps with your family’s business. A Senator sure could help a family of developers and solar farm peddlers out with legislature.)
